‘The same feeling’… Ruben Dias makes comment about Liverpool straight after drawing with Tottenham

Manchester City defender Ruben Dias has referred to the match against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool while giving his reaction to his side’s failure to win against Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur.

City played out a 3-3 draw with Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday and drew 1-1 with Liverpool last month.

So, what has Ruben Dias said about Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur? Let’s take a look.

Ruben Dias reacts to Manchester City 3-3 Tottenham Hotspur

Well, Manchester City failed to win against Tottenham Hotspur at home on Sunday. The Premier League match at the Etihad Stadium ended in a 3-3 draw. It was hugely entertaining for the neutrals.

While City did create chances and had a very controversial late refereeing call, they were defensively vulnerable and conceded three goals.

Ruben Dias started for City in defence. After the match, he said that, just like the game against Liverpool, the defending Premier League champions could have won against Tottenham by four or five goals.

City played out a 1-1 draw with Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on November 25.

BBC Sport quotes Dias as saying: “It’s difficult for us. The same feeling as Liverpool – a game we could have won by four or five but in the end, small margins and these things can happen.

“The team did think the performance was good in many levels. Obviously we conceded the goals but still the attitude, the way we played, the aggression. Unfortunately we couldn’t get the three points, it’s frustrating. The only way now is to keep moving forwards.”

Manchester City are defensively vulnerable

In my opinion, Manchester City need to sort out their defence, and they need to do it quickly.

While Pep Guardiola’s side are doing well in attack and are scoring goals, they are conceding far too many.

Last week in the UEFA Champions League, City were 2-0 behind against RB Leipzig. On November 12, the defending European champions scored four goals against Chelsea and still could not win.

City are not keeping clean sheets. It seems as though opposition teams are not afraid to have a go at them now.
