Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said that Takehiro Tomiyasu has potentially picked up an injury during the win over Wolves today.
The Gunners held on in the end to win 2-1 and it puts them four clear at the summit of the Premier League.
In the end, Arsenal had done enough to secure the win but they were made to battle in freezing conditions to get the win.
Part of that battling came at a cost as they could have suffered yet another injury issue, this time in the form of Tomiyasu.
Speaking after the game about the Japanese defender, Arteta confirmed that the 25-year-old will need to be assessed to see how serious the latest problem is.
“I don’t know. He felt something. I don’t know if it was fatigue. We decided to change straight away and we didn’t want to take any risks. Let’s assess him and see how he is,” Arteta said.
Tomiyasu injury another blow for Arsenal
Like all clubs, the Gunners have had their fair share of injury issues this season and another one to Tomiyasu is not what they need right now.

The defender performed well today and as Arteta says, he was removed as a precaution as the last thing the Gunners need is more problems in defence.
If Tomiyasu is to be out, then it gives the Gunners an issue over the busy Christmas period.
However, regardless of the injury, it was still a big day for Arsenal again. They just keep winning games and at the moment, that’s all they can do.
They are well in the title race and Arteta will be delighted.
