Fabrizio Romano says £120,000-a-week player ‘set to leave’ Manchester United in January

Fabrizio Romano has reported what Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek plans to do in the January transfer window.

The Italian journalist has also relayed quotes from the Netherlands international midfielder about his future.

So, what is being reported about Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek? Let’s take a look.

What’s the story?

Well, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Donny van de Beek is “set to leave” Manchester United in the January transfer window.

Romano has also noted what Van de Beek has said about his future, as you can see below.

Van de Beek clearly wants to play regularly. The United midfielder has openly said that he wants to leave.

The 26-year-old has made one substitute appearance in the Premier League and one substitute appearance in the Carabao Cup for Erik ten Hag’s side this campaign.

Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek could struggle to find another Premier League club

In my opinion, Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek is going to find it tough to find another club in the Premier League to sign him in the middle of the season.

I do not think that the £120,000-a-week (Spotrac) Dutchman has done anything of note during his time in England so far.

Even during his loan spell at Everton, Van de Beek failed to make an impact. There were links with Crystal Palace in the summer of 2023, but nothing materialised.

It has simply not happened for Van de Beek in the Premier League, and I do not see why another club in the English top flight would be keen on him in the January transfer window.

Van de Beek has made 42 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. The midfielder has scored three goals and given one assist in those games.

United are eighth in the Premier League table at the moment with 21 points from 12 matches, five points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who have played 12 matches.
