John Hartson says Celtic have a 20-year-old youngster they should start playing more often

The great thing about Celtic right now is that they have a whole host of youngsters at the club who could go on to become stars for the club.

Players like Hyeongyu Oh and Hyunjun Yang have both been tipped to become ‘superstars’ by South Korea national boss, Jurgen Klinsmann.

Celtic’s record signing from the Australian A-League, Marco Tilio, has also been labelled as an exciting player by his Socceroo Assistant Manager, Ufuk Talay.

The Hoops also have a young Norwegian, Odin Thiago Holm, in their ranks and whilst he has impressed in the limited time he has been on the pitch, John Harston believes Brendan Rodgers must start playing him more to see the best of him.

Hartson said [The Go Radio Football Show], “He’s had glimpses, hasn’t he? He was sent off in Feyenoord and then he had to serve a ban he’s not quite come back and have the same impact.

“But listen, I’ve seen Holm play very well this season. The times that I’ve watched me he’s played in little fits and starts.

“I think like the others, he is one of those that maybe needs a run of games. It’s difficult but the Celtic midfield is so strong.

“So sometimes Brendan can only put these players on when they’re two or three nil up when they’ve already won the game.”

Holm had a great game in the 3-1 away win against Aberdeen up at Pittodrie at the start of the season. He was then brought in for the Glasgow Derby win at Ibrox in which he also impressed.

And it seems like Rodgers is going to use him sparingly from the bench this season. Averaging 27 mins per game, Holm has only made ten appearances at Celtic this season.

He seems to have moved up the pecking order ever since his brilliant 20-minute cameo against St Mirren earlier this month.

The youngster was also excellent in the 6-0 demolition of Aberdeen at Celtic Park and he does seem to have a good future at the club.

Holm shows great potential and if Rodgers can unlock that then Celtic will have a real gem on their hands.
