£45m Tottenham player now spotted on international duty after coming off injured in Wolves defeat

Tottenham Hotspur forward Brennan Johnson has been spotted on international duty after coming off with an injury against Wolves on Saturday.

Brennan Johnson took to Instagram late last night and uploaded a picture of himself as he prepares to join up with his Wales teammates.

The 22-year-old netted his first goal for Tottenham over the weekend as Ange Postecoglou’s men fell to a 2-1 defeat.

It’s no secret that Spurs are struggling with injuries at the moment, with Micky van de Ven and James Maddison both facing lenghty spells on the sidelines.

Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie were also both suspended for the game at Molineux on Saturday, which meant Postecoglou was forced to make three changes to his backline.

Despite an underwhelming Spurs performance in the Midlands, Johnson was a real bright spark for Spurs off the left-hand side.

The Welshman went down in the second half after clutching his calf and was replaced by Bryan Gil.

But it appears that Johnson’s injury isn’t anything serious as he’s set to link with with the Welsh squad this week.

Johnson took to Instagram last night and posted a picture of himself turning up for international duty.

It would be a much-needed boost for Spurs if the forward hasn’t picked up a knock as Postecoglou is currently light on numbers up-front.

Indeed, Richarlison has recently undergone surgery while Ivan Perisic and Manor Solomon remain sidelined.

Johnson has impressed every time he’s played ever since joining from Nottingham Forest for a fee worth £45 million on deadline day.

The youngster will have to continue to step up over the coming weeks as Spurs bid to battle through a difficult period.

Postecoglou has tasted back-to-back defeats in his last two games after avoiding a loss in the league beforehand.

Spurs will welcome Destiny Udogie back after the international break but Postecoglou will have to find a way to get his side purring once again, despite a lack of quality options.
