Brennan Johnson now has 10-word message for Tottenham fans after last night

Tottenham Hotspur winger Brennan Johnson has now shared a message with fans following a chaotic loss against Chelsea last night.

Amid all of the drama, Johnson was one of the players Spurs had to sacrifice despite his brilliant start to the game.

The winger was substituted for Eric Dier in the 34th minute, and was unlucky to have an assist for Son Heung-Min ruled out for offside beforehand.

Taking to Instagram after the game, Johnson did have an encouraging message for Tottenham fans.

Posting on his story, he said: “Proud of the boys. Support was top class, thank you!”

And it was remarkable to see just how well the Spurs fans stuck by their side despite all of the suffering they ended up enduring.

Cristian Romero’s tackle may have frustrated many home fans last night, but they didn’t let that blight their support.

And an outstanding performance from Guglielmo Vicario for example, still gave them plenty to get behind.

Moreover, Johnson will now be hoping that he can play a key part in Spurs galvanising their squad over the next few games.

As well as Tottenham’s forwards, who will need to take pressure off of a new look defence in the coming weeks, Eric Dier will now be crucial.

Despite often being linked with a departure, any move away from the club in January now doesn’t look well advised.

Dier hasn’t played a lot of football this season but still looked in fine form when he was introduced.

And had the offside flag not gone up, Dier may have scored one of the most famous goals in Spurs’ recent history.

It was an incredible game of football, even if Spurs eventually suffered.

But the whole Tottenham squad, including Johnson, will now be looking to repay their fans for their faith last night.

And despite Micky van de Ven leaving the game on crutches yesterday evening, there’s still reason to be positive for all connected with the club.

Spurs showed a ton of character, and a night like this could end up pulling their squad even closer together.
