Juventus pushing to make Tottenham send them their £15m midfielder on loan

Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is facing an uncertain future and Juventus are still pushing hard to sign him.

The Italian giants have been admirers of Hojbjerg for some time, while Atletico Madrid are also thought to be keen on the Dane. Ajax, too, are also thought to be considering a move for the midfielder.

However, Tottenham’s injury problems mean that Ange Postecoglou needs to be careful over who he lets leave in January. There have been suggestions the Aussie will keep Hojbjerg around, ruining his chances of a move away.

But according to Tuttomercatoweb, Juventus are trying to convince Tottenham to let Hojbjerg go anyway.

Juventus are pushing to sign Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

According to the report, Juventus are continuing to engage with Spurs and Daniel Levy over a deal to bring Hojbjerg to Turin.

The Italian side are hoping to see Tottenham change their mind and allow the £15m signing to make the move away from north London.

One big issue for Juve could be the recent new injury to Rodrigo Bentancur. The Uruguayan is out until January at least and with others also injured, Ange can ill-afford to lose another body.

A lot could depend on if Spurs make their own moves in the window in terms of incomings.

A big call on Hojbjerg

It’s a massive all this for Tottenham. The injury problems at the club means they can’t afford to get these decisions wrong in January.

Hojbjerg, despite not being a regular starter, always comes in and does a job and he’s always come across as a top professional at the club.

Clearly, other clubs have a big admiration for him as well and it’s clear from the interest here that big teams see value in signing him.

It might not define Tottenham’s season entirely if Hojbjerg goes. But it could well impact them, and with that in mind, they have to make sure it’s done the right way.
