Eddie Howe says 19-year-old Newcastle ace has been superb in training

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has praised Magpies talent Lewis Hall for his efforts at the club so far.

The Newcastle boss, speaking ahead of the Carabao Cup trip to Manchester United, said the 19-year-old Magpies summer signing has been training well.

Newcastle signed Hall from Chelsea in August, the Magpies sealing a loan deal with an obligation to buy for up to £35million.

As per Sky Sports, the St James’ Park outfit will pay £28million to the Blues on completion of the season-long loan, with potential £7million in add-ons.

Hall has been finding his feet at Newcastle following his move. He has made two appearances for the Magpies so far – a Carabao Cup start and a Premier League outing off the bench.

‘He’s a player we really like’

With Newcastle now set for a last-16 encounter with fellow 2022-23 cup finalists Man United, there’s a chance Howe will give a start to the Magpies summer signing.

The Newcastle boss said Hall has needed to adapt to such a big change in his life, but he’s on the right track and looks like he has a bright future ahead of him.

“He’s a talented player,” Howe told the Newcastle media team. “He can play various positions for us, which in our current position we are going to need. Lewis has been training well.

“He’s been adapting to quite a big change in his life so for such a young player to move from London and settle in here, I think he’s done it well. The best of him is yet to come, without a doubt.

“When you get an opportunity you have to take it, and Lewis has done that. His performance against Manchester City was very good, he’s a player we really like.”

Lewis Hall looks like a top prospect for Newcastle

It’s good to hear Howe speak highly of Hall ahead of the upcoming Carabao Cup match. This suggests he should get a look-in.

Hall wasn’t bad against City but you could tell he was playing catch-up after his disrupted pre-season at his old club.

Hopefully we’ll get to see him from the start. He should be much sharper and, with him still being at the start of his career, it’ll be exciting to see how he develops for Newcastle.
