‘They will’… Journalist names a ‘priority’ position Celtic will look to fill in January

Off the back of his performance for Celtic today against St Johnstone and his mistake against Motherwell, it’s little wonder Celtic are rumoured to be looking at Joe Hart’s replacement in January.

Against The Steelmen in the 1-1 draw at Celtic Park, Hart was caught out of position as he tried to win a foul when Jonathan Obika scored late and against St Johnstone today, the Hoops ‘keeper was weak again as Craig Levein’s men took the lead at McDiarmid Park.

Journalist Dean Jones reckons Celtic have identified Hart’s position as a priority and will look to do something about it in January.

Jones said [GiveMeSport], “I think raising the quality of the Celtic squad will be crucial. It’s something that Rodgers has alluded to recently himself.

“The numbers are there for Celtic, but the quality isn’t. I think more than anything, you realise that when you get to Champions League matches, and you just see that they’re just nowhere near it most of the time.

“So, they will look for players who can take them to that next level. A new goalkeeper will be a priority, but outfield improvements are also needed here.”

Joe Hart is really struggling at Celtic

Like I said at the beginning of this piece, Hart is really struggling at Celtic over the past few games. High-profile mistakes are really putting the former England international in the spotlight.

With links to Andriy Lunin and Caoimhin Kelleher emerging in the summer, the Celtic fans will be hoping that recent reports suggesting that the club is looking at making a move for Lunin will come quickly.

Hart has been excellent over the past two seasons and I have been a huge supporter of the 36-year-old. But recently, these mistakes are starting to cause Celtic serious problems and dropped points.

In other news, £35m player linked to Celtic in the summer is to leave his club in January
