After a brilliant yet incredibly frustrating night in Paris, the dust is now settling for Eddie Howe and his proud Newcastle United side.
Newcastle delivered a brilliant performance, one littered with heart and determination, that ultimately deserved three points.
And although the win was so cruelly ripped from Newcastle’s clutches late on – the less said about that decision the better, there were still some stellar displays.
Perhaps the standouts being Tino Livramento and Lewis Miley.
However, that wasn’t how French outlet L’Equipe judged it.
When delivering their player ratings for the game, the publication somehow decided Lewis Miley was the worst Newcastle player, giving him a four out of 10.
Moreover, Livramento was handed a five out of 10, a player who was flawless throughout – and didn’t commit a handball offence in the eyes of many.

For context, Newcastle’s highest rated players were Nick Pope (eight) and Bruno Guimaraes (seven).
And the publication did rate PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma as the worst player on the pitch with a three out of 10 for his part in the goal.
Eddie Howe will have been proud of Lewis Miley’s display for Newcastle in Paris
Of course, many did consider it to be another brilliant night for 17-year-old Miley.
Eddie Howe was once again enduring the chaos of his Newcastle injury crisis in Paris, but Miley’s emergence has been a brilliant result of it.
And even if some of the French media weren’t impressed, Jamie O’Hara certainly was when watching the game.
Speaking on talkSPORT, O’Hara said: “Special mention to Lewis Miley at 17 years of age to put in a performance like that, the tactical awareness to play in that game.”
A much more accurate summary of a stellar performance.
Newcastle fans are bound to wake up with a sour taste this morning, a feeling of wrongdoing that may last a while.
But Howe’s side can ultimately be proud of their display in Paris, one that typifies this Newcastle team’s determination.
