Leroy Sane and Vinicius Junior left very impressed by £45m Arsenal player last night

After a brilliant win against Lens last night, Gabriel Jesus had a queue of players waiting to celebrate his Arsenal performance.

Mikel Arteta’s side started the game brilliantly, heading into half-time 5-0 up against a side who beat them in the reserve fixture.

And that was in part due to the brilliant work by £45m Gabriel Jesus.

Looking fit and sharp, Jesus inspired an industrious display, and also showed deft composure in front of goal when needed.

And following the game, Jesus took to Instagram to celebrate Arsenal’s win over Lens.

Jesus uploaded a post with two photos including a caption: “Job done. Amazing team performance.”

Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior then replied with: “Joga muito” whereas Leroy Sane simply replied: “Gabiiiiiiiii.”

Arsenal fans might be particularly interested to see Sane still keeping tabs on his old teammate, someone who has been linked with an Arsenal move.

Nonetheless, it was a brilliant display from Jesus, and another timely reminder of his quality.

Arteta’s side are now often linked with a striker in January, but they do already have an incumbent ready to win titles.

Of course, a troublesome knee injury has often halted Jesus from helping Arsenal to silverware thus far.

The Brazilian was missing for much of last season and has already missed large chunks thus.

However, with a knee injury being carefully managed of late, Arteta will have everything crossed that’s now in the past.

Eddie Nketiah isn’t currently showing the consistency needed to lead the line, and Jesus is vital if Arsenal are to achieve their ambitions.

And that may be why Arsenal are now being linked to a striker often compared with Erling Haaland in January.

Perhaps Arsenal would benefit from better competition for Jesus, a striker who could allow him more rest.

But the January window is often very difficult to navigate, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if Arsenal waited until the summer.

And given how extraordinary one of their targets is looking, it may be worth the wait.
