‘The first time’… Garth Crooks says £30m Arsenal player getting back to his best now

Garth Crooks has given his verdict on Arsenal attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard after watching him in action against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The former Tottenham Hotspur forward and BBC Sport pundit was impressed by Odegaard.

So, what has Garth Crooks said about Arsenal playmaker Martin Odegaard? Let’s take a look.

Praise for Arsenal star Martin Odegaard vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Well, Arsenal beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday.

Martin Odegaard started the match for the Gunners. The former Real Madrid attacking midfielder was deployed on the right of a midfield-three in a 4-3-3 formation.

The £30 million (Sky Sports) Norway international playmaker scored the second goal for Arsenal in the 13th minute.

Odegaard was a force to be reckoned with for Arsenal. The attacking midfielder was everywhere and was doing everything he could to keep Mikel Arteta’s side on the front foot.

Former Tottenham Hotspur forward Garth Crooks was impressed with Odegaard. The pundit has included the 24-year-old in his Premier League Team of the Week, saying that he is getting back to his best now.

Crooks told BBC Sport about Odegaard: “This was the first time I’ve seen Odegaard look something like the player he was for Arsenal last season.

“His goal was struck beautifully, but he was also back controlling the game from the centre of midfield and setting up chances for his team-mates to score out of nothing.”

Martin Odegaard a key player for Arsenal

In my view, Martin Odegaard is one of the best and most important players for Arsenal.

The playmaker is one of the best around in his position, and he is also the Arsenal captain.

Odegaard has not been at his best in recent weeks, but he did well against Wolverhampton Wanderers this past weekend.

The 24-year-old has scored four goals and given one assist in 11 Premier League matches for Arsenal this season.

The playmaker has scored two goals in four UEFA Champions League matches for the North London club this campaign.

Arsenal are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment with 33 points from 14 matches, two points above second-placed Liverpool.
