£150m striker urged to leave his current club after he’s linked with Arsenal transfer

John Obi Mikel has now urged Victor Osimhen to head to the Premier League after links to clubs like Arsenal in the past.

Obi Mikel was speaking on ‘The Obi One Podcast’ and believed that Osimhen now needed to move to England to progress his career.

Of course, Arsenal have often been linked with Osimhen in the past, despite a price tag of £150m having been mentioned.

However, such is the striker’s form for Napoli, a deal may not be impossible for a side at that price.

Speaking on his podcast, Obi Mikel said: “I think he has to move on. If he wants to be in the top, top league, he has to move on.

“It’s time. He has paid his dues for Napoli and it’s time for him to move on and achieve greater things. He will only do that if he comes to the Premier League.”

Although many Arsenal fans would love to have a striker like Osimhen, they may imagine a deal could prove too expensive.

Ivan Toney has been linked with a move to Arsenal in January, but the club’s financial restrictions have often been mentioned.

Obi Mikel thinks Osimhen needs to head to England amid Arsenal interest

Whilst a striker may be targeted in the windows to come, Mikel Arteta has unearthed a new solution in his current Arsenal squad.

Building on his pre-season form, Leandro Trossard now looks to have secured a position as false nine for the foreseeable.

Gabriel Jesus does seem likely to be back fit after the break, however the Belgian will surely be given another chance by Arteta.

And although Obi Mikel is urging Osimhen to come to the Premier League, Arsenal don’t seem best placed for such a signing.

One of Arteta’s options would likely need to be moved on in order to sanction a deal and that would complicate things.

However, there is certainly no doubt among Arsenal’s fan base that the club could benefit from an elite striker like Victor Osimhen.

Jesus has world-class characteristics himself, but a goal scorer of Osimhen’s calibre could proper Arsenal to silverware.
