‘It’s not’… Gary Neville predicts Arsenal vs Brentford result, Roy Keane disagrees

Gary Neville and Roy Keane have now been sharing their predictions for Arsenal’s trip to Brentford on Saturday as club football returns.

Arsenal reacted well to their disappointment at Newcastle United with a win over Burnley before the break.

And Neville and Keane have now been discussing the chances of Arsenal continuing that success on the ‘Stick to Football’ podcast.

Both agreed that Arsenal would beat Brentford, but they clashed over Aaron Ramsdale keeping a clean sheet.

Neville said: “Arsenal are winning that. 1-0 Arsenal.”

Keane replied: “It’s not going to be 1-0 is it? 2-1 Arsenal.”

Of course, Aaron Ramsdale should be in net for The Gunners given David Raya is on loan from Brentford.

Mikel Arteta is now expected to make three changes to his XI for the game – including a return for Ben White.

Arsenal did manage to keep a clean sheet in the fixture last season, a game which they won 3-0 with Ethan Nwaneri making his debut late on.

And although Ivan Toney has been missing, Brentford certainly don’t look like an easier test this season.

Arsenal fans probably won’t be too surprised that Roy Keane is still enjoying the chance to talk down his old rivals.

And some may even be shocked that he predicted a win for Arteta’s side at all.

Perhaps the biggest decision Arsenal’s manager has to make for the game is at centre-forward.

Leandro Trossard has done an admirable job as a false nine whilst Gabriel Jesus has been injured.

But with the Brazilian now back fit and firing after 90 minutes for his country, he could be competing for a start.

It would seem sensible for Jesus to remain on the bench on this occasion – but ultimately only Mikel Arteta knows.

Amid these predictions from Keane and Neville, Arsenal fans will surely be happy with any win against Brentford on Saturday evening.

The side do need to make the most of a weekend in which the rest of the top five are pitched against each other.

And should results go their way, Arsenal could find themselves at the top of the Premier League table.
