‘I’m very sorry’… £22m Tottenham player now issues public apology to Spurs fans after Aston Villa defeat

Tottenham Hotspur skipper Son Heung-Min has issued an apology to Spurs fans after the defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday.

Speaking to Spurs Play, Son expressed his disappointment after Tottenham fell to their third loss on the bounce yesterday.

Ange Postecoglou is enduring his first real test as Spurs boss as he bids to guide them through a difficult period.

The Aussie is without several key players at the moment, with the likes of James Maddison, Micky van de Ven, Pape Matar Sarr and Richarlison all out injured.

Cristian Romero and Yves Bissouma also missed yesterday’s 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa due to suspension.

And after a third consecutive loss in the Premier League, Son Heung-Min has apologised to Tottenham fans.

Son issues public apology to Tottenham fans

Speaking after yesterday’s game, Son admitted his disappointment after Tottenham’s recent slump in the league.

“I’m very sorry to our fans, three games in a row defeats, it’s not the way we want to approach but you guys were unbelievable, the fans were unbelievable and we now move on to next week,” the Spurs skipper said.

Tottenham were flying high at the top of the table before a chaotic 90 minutes against Chelsea a few weeks back.

Postecoglou’s men fell to a 4-1 defeat on the night but it was the suspensions and injuries that have led to Spurs’ dip in form.

Nevertheless, Spurs were unfortunate to be on the wrong end of yesterday’s result as they were the better side on the day.

They were made to rue their wasted opportunities in front of goal but Postecoglou can take plenty of positives from the game.

It doesn’t get any easier for Tottenham this weekend as they travel to Manchester City on Sunday afternoon. But they will welcome back Romero after their trip to the Etihad Stadium, which will be a huge boost for Postecoglou.
