Yves Bissouma names the three players he couldn’t wait to play with when he joined Tottenham

Yves Bissouma has named the three players couldn’t wait to play alongside when he joined Tottenham Hotspur last summer.

Speaking to Tottenham’s official YouTube channel, Yves Bissouma opened up on his decision to leave Brighton for Spurs.

The Mali international was snapped up for a fee worth £25 million last summer but struggled to make an impact under Antonio Conte.

The 26-year-old has even admitted he didn’t quite see eye-to-eye with Conte when it comes to football.

Of course, Conte was the man who brought him to the club. But Bissouma has named Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min and Hugo Lloris as the players he couldn’t wait to play with when he joined.

Bissouma admitted that he was ready to leave Brighton and when Tottenham came knocking, he didn’t hesitate to make the move.

“Yes I was ready [to leave Brighton],” he said. “I had spent four wonderful years at Brighton and I said to myself ‘It really is the time’.

“Even the club knew it was the time for me to leave and turn a page. Because I said in my career I want to make progress.

“As I said, even the club agreed. Tottenham came and I didn’t even hesitate.”

The midfielder was then asked what made Spurs such an exciting prospect for him at the time.

“Yes, really keen,” Bissouma added. “First, playing with players like Harry, Sonny and all of them was incredible for me.

“With the journey I had been on, and arriving at Tottenham. As you said – new stadium, new training centre, Harry, Sonny.

“For me, I had to leave [Brighton]. I had to leave and it was incredible. I arrived, the fans’ reception, Hugo Lloris. It was wonderful.”

Of course, Kane has since moved away from the club as he made the switch to Bayern Munich over the summer.

As for Lloris, he also looked set to depart but was unable to secure a move and has lost his place in the side to Guglielmo Vicario.

Son is the only player from the three who continues to star for Spurs and was even handed the captain’s armband over the summer.
