‘On fire’… Clint Dempsey says one player has been absolutely brilliant since leaving Tottenham

Clint Dempsey says Harry Kane has been ‘on fire’ since leaving Tottenham Hotspur over the summer.

The former Spurs midfielder has been speaking to CBS Sports and reflected on yet another exceptional Champions League display from Harry Kane last night.

Kane completed an £86 million switch to Bayern Munich in August as he left Ange Postecoglou’s side on the eve of the Premier League season.

James Maddison recently admitted he was gutted to see Kane leave but Tottenham have fared well without their former talisman so far.

And it’s fair to say that Kane has taken no time to settle into life in Munich either.

Indeed, the England captain has already managed 26 goal involvements in just 15 appearances for the Bundesliga giants.

Kane helped Bayern to a 2-1 win over Galatasaray in the Champions League on Wednesday evening by netting a brace. And his displays has led to high praise from Clint Dempsey.

Dempsey heaped praise on Kane for the impact he’s made at Bayern already.

“I want to talk about the old Tottenham player and how well he’s been doing,” he told Thierry Henry on CBS Sports last night. “He’s been on fire man.

“17 goals and seven assists, we know he can do it in the Premier League and with England but now he’s doing it in another league and another country and that’s why he’s a top striker in the world.”

Dempsey was speaking about Kane before he netted a brace last night and the Englishman now has 19 goals to his name in a Bayern shirt.

Spurs fans certainly won’t be surprised to see Kane thriving in Germany after watching him for many years in England.

Tottenham’s all-time top goalscorer is putting up ridiculous numbers for Bayern and seems to be at the peak of his powers at the moment.

Of course, it will hurt Spurs fans to see their former hero doing the business elsewhere. But Tottenham have also enjoyed an encouraging start to the season and currently sit second in the Premier League without Kane leading the line.
