Tottenham Hotspur star Cristian Romero has reacted on Instagram after beating Brazil with Argentina last night.
The Spurs defender put in a commanding display at centre-back as Argentina picked up a 1-0 win over Brazil.
Nicolas Otamendi grabbed the only goal of the game and was assisted by Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.
Argentina have shown no signs of resting on their laurels after lifting the World Cup in Qatar last year.
Lionel Scaloni’s men have tasted defeat just once since last year’s tournament and Cristian Romero has been key to their success.
The 25-year-old was labelled a ‘beast’ after last night’s win over Brazil, with the media raving about his display.
And the Tottenham star took to Instagram after yet another win over their South American rivals.
Romero reacts after beating Brazil with Argentina
Romero expressed his delight on social media after beating Brazil and clearly has high hopes for this current Argentina side.
“What a team for god sake,” he wrote. “How not to feel identified with this band.
“We continue writing history.”
Romero was up against a potent front three consisting of Gabriel Martinelli, Raphinha and Gabriel Jesus.
The Spurs man didn’t put a foot wrong against Brazil and it should benefit him to get some minutes under his belt.
Of course, he was sent off in the 4-1 defeat against Chelsea a couple of weeks ago and is set to miss Tottenham’s next two fixtures.
Spurs will be desperate to have Romero back, especially after Micky van de Ven’s injury.
While Romero will occasionally let the team down with some questionable decision-making, he remains an integral part of Ange Postecoglou’s side.
