Willie Miller was blown away with two ‘brilliant’ Celtic players in win vs Aberdeen

Celtic’s incredible 6-0 win over Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership was an absolute masterclass in possession football from Brendan Rodgers’ side.

By half-time, the Hoops were 2-0 up and cruising. Having over 80% of the possession and limiting Aberdeen to zero shots on goal, Celtic were so dominant as they treated the home fans to a fine display of attacking football.

But it was when Kyogo Furuhashi knocked in Celtic’s second goal that Aberdeen legend, Willie Miller, pointed out two Hoops players who really impressed him.

Miller said [BBC], “It is the same as the first goal in terms of the wide players have been brilliant for Celtic. Yang is given far too much room, O’Riley runs from midfield and one of those three centre-backs have got to go with them.

“It’s poor from Aberdeen. The tactic of trying to frustrate Celtic simply hasn’t worked.“

Luis Palma and Hyunjun Yang were excellent for Celtic vs Aberdeen

Both of the wing players were very impressive for Celtic in the win over Aberdeen. A constant thorn in the Pittodrie side’s full-backs, Palma and Yang combined to carve open Celtic’s opener.

They also switched sides on a couple of occasions to cause more confusion to the Celtic backline and their combination play with Matt O’Riley in those 45 first-half minutes was also a joy to watch.

For Celtic, the win keeps Brendan Rodgers’ side eight points clear at the top of the table heading into the international break.

At least the next two weeks will give Kyogo Furuhashi the opportunity to recover from his head knock that forced him off midway through the second half and for Rodgers, some food for thought on Yang who continues to impress.

The Korean has now played a massive part in Celtic’s last two home wins and Rodgers must now be feeling a whole lot better about who he is going to rely on to replace the injured Daizen Maeda.
