Alan Shearer has now been praising Arsenal target Evan Ferguson following a brilliant goal for Brighton Hove Albion yesterday.
Shearer was reflecting on Ferguson’s performance on the BBC’s Match of the Day and was amazed by his touch and finish.
The pundit thought Brighton were superb all round in their display, and Ferguson’s finish was the cherry on top.
Arsenal have often been linked with a move for Evan Ferguson, an 19-year-old striker who could cost upwards of £100m.
And Shearer was impressed: “This is a wonderful touch by Evan Ferguson to set himself up and then just to guide it into the corner there.”
Although he’s only been used sparingly this season, it’s becoming clear why so many teams are now interested in Ferguson.
The striker is showing composure well beyond his years and already has the physicality ready for any occasion.

And given Arsenal did look a little light up top against Brentford at times yesterday, it’s clear to see how he would improve the side.
Alan Shearer thought Arsenal linked Evan Ferguson was outstanding yesterday
The biggest challenge for any side signing Ferguson would surely be his sample size.
Although Ferguson has had some excellent performances in the Premier League, he’s only amassed 32 appearances in total.
And to justify such a high fee, it would represent something of a gamble for a top side.
Mikel Arteta is known to be bold when backing his ideas, just look at Kai Havertz, but a move would be a big call.
The likes of Alan Shearer must have no doubt that a player like Ferguson could do it at Arsenal or Manchester United – but it would still be a risk.
And although recruiting a new striker will be important for Arsenal, the focus is slightly elsewhere after the win against Brentford.
As expected, all eyes were on Aaron Ramsdale during the game.
And despite keeping a clean sheet, the pressure understandably had an effect on the keeper.
That being said, Arteta wasn’t shy of laying into his keeper on the field when he saw it necessary yesterday.
There’s still plenty for Arsenal and Arteta to ponder after a good win, and Evan Ferguson’s performances may be one to keep a close eye on.
