‘Firing line’… Harry Redknapp says Jeremy Doku could destroy one Tottenham Hotspur defender

Harry Redknapp has given his verdict on how Tottenham Hotspur right-back Pedro Porro will fare against Manchester City winger Jeremy Doku.

The former Tottenham Hotspur manager has raved about Doku ahead of the match between City and Spurs.

So, what has Harry Redknapp said about Jeremy Doku and Pedro Porro? Let’s take a look.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Pedro Porro warned about Manchester City winger Jeremy Doku

Well, Manchester City will take on Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.

City have (arguably?) the best squad in England, while Spurs have lost their last three Premier League games.

Pep Guardiola’s side are in better form and are also at home. Most pundits are backing City to pick up all three points from the match against Tottenham. Even Michail Antonio thinks that Spurs will lose.

Former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp believes that Pedro Porro will have a tough time against Manchester City winger Jeremy Doku.

Doku is starting ahead of Jack Grealish at left wing for City at the moment, and the Belgium international is likely to keep his place in the starting lineup. Porro is set to start at right-back for Tottenham.

Redknapp told The Sun: “If I had to choose one man who’s lit up the Premier League this season, it’s Doku. At a time when there is such a stink over VAR, he has been a breath of fresh air.

“Not so much a guy who puts bums on seats, as gets backsides out of them — because he makes things happen.

“There aren’t many games now when the full-back gets put under any serious, sustained pressure. Players are more intent on a safe pass and keeping possession than running at their opponent and trying to be positive.

“But in Doku, Pep has a player who thinks the opposite. Someone who is killing defenders, in a football sense, every time he gets the ball.

“I feel sorry for Pedro Porro, who will be the one in his firing line today when Tottenham are at the Etihad. Porro’s done alright in his first season in England but he will have his hands full this afternoon.”

Manchester City favourites vs Spurs

In my view, Manchester City are favourites against Tottenham Hotspur. Although Spurs have a good team, they have had a lot of injury issues and are defensively vulnerable.

But, as we all know, anything is possible in football. Tottenham do have the mentality to go and win matches against the big teams away from home.

I am not saying that Spurs will win at the Etihad Stadium. I am backing City to win. But, I would not be surprised if Ange Postecoglou’s side ended up picking up a point from the encounter or even managed to win it.
