Guglielmo Vicario absolutely loved £26m Tottenham player’s display vs Fulham on Monday

Guglielmo Vicario has taken to social media to praise Emerson Royal after his display for Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night.

Spurs picked up a 2-0 win over Fulham thanks to goals from Heung-Min Son and James Maddison. But it wasn’t all plain sailing for Tottenham as Guglielmo Vicario was forced to make a couple of vital stops.

Tottenham excelled in the first half and came flying out the blocks to grab a second goal through Maddison.

Yet, they took their foot off the gas after getting the second and Ange Postecoglou was far from impressed with the second-half display after the game.

The Aussie boss decided the make some changes in the second period and Emerson Royal came on for Destiny Udogie just before the hour mark.

Royal frequently swapped sides with Pedro Porro throughout the half and put in a solid performance.

And it’s fair to say that Vicario was impressed with the Brazilian’s cameo display on Monday night.

Vicario sends message to Royal after Spurs beat Fulham

He wrote: “Amazing game yesterday at home.”

And Vicario showed his appreciation for the full-back’s performance by leaving a comment beneath the post.

Royal has struggled for minutes so far this season after starting on the opening day at Brentford.

The £26 million even netted in the 2-2 draw at the Gtech Community Stadium but he’s not started in the Premier League since.

That’s largely down to Pedro Porro’s excellent form at right-back, while Udogie has also starred on the opposite side.

But Royal will provide a useful option for Postecoglou over the course of the campaign as he offers something completely different to Porro.

While he’s not as gifted on the ball as Porro, he does provide a more solid defensive option.
