Michail Antonio shares what ‘everyone was saying’ about Mohammed Kudus before West Ham transfer

West Ham United striker Michail Antonio has given his verdict on Mohammed Kudus.

Antonio has shared what everyone told him when West Ham signed Kudus.

So, what has Michail Antonio said about his West Ham United teammate Mohammed Kudus? Let’s take a look.

Michail Antonio praises West Ham United teammate Mohammed Kudus

Well, Michail Antonio has been raving about his West Ham United teammate Mohammed Kudus. The 33-year-old has been hugely impressed by the Ghana international.

Antonio has said that Kudus is probably the first name on the West Ham teamsheet when he is fit.

The Jamaica international has added that everyone was saying just how good Kudus is when the Hammers were signing him.

West Ham signed the 23-year-old from Ajax in the summer transfer window. Kudus is a very versatile attacking player who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger.

Kudus has made four starts and six substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Hammers this season. The youngster has scored two goals and given one assist in those games.

The Ghana international has also scored two goals in four UEFA Europa League games and has scored one goal in two Carabao Cup matches for David Moyes’s side this campaign.

Antonio said about Kudus on The Players Channel podcast on BBC: “The guy is on fire. Literally. I heard when we were signing him how good he was and people were saying that if we got him he would be an unbelievable signing, that he should have possibly gone to a team that was higher than us.

“This was what everyone was saying to us. If we get him it’s an unbelievable signing. At the beginning of the season, he didn’t get much opportunity to play in the starting line-up. But now the guy has his shirt solidified.

“Probably number one on the team sheet. The guy is on fire and you can see the quality.”

Mohammed Kudus is a gem

Michail Antonio is not the first West Ham United player to publicly praise Mohammed Kudus. James Ward-Prowse spoke highly of the attacker in November, while Jarrod Bowen thinks that the Ghanian star is “a really special player”.

Kudus is only 23 now, and I believe that he is going to improve and develop in the coming years. The former Ajax star has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water, and I think that he is a gem of a footballer.
