Robbie Savage now predicts where Aston Villa will finish in the Premier League table this season

Robbie Savage has now predicted where Aston Villa will finish in the Premier League this season after their 2-1 win against Tottenham on Sunday.

Unai Emery’s side climbed into the top-four for the first time since 2009 after coming from behind in north London to claim all three points against Tottenham.

The Spanish manager has transformed Villa into one of the most exciting sides in the Premier League, with a UEFA Champions League finish now a realistic goal for the Birmingham side.

Yet for Savage, the former Wales international told 606 that he doesn’t think Villa have enough to crack the top-four, with wishful thinking of the title even more outrageous from Emery’s side.

The pundit said when asked if Villa can win the title: “They’re not going to win the title. How are you going to get past Manchester City? Top four [contenders], yeah.

“I don’t think they will finish in the top four. I honestly don’t. But they are having a remarkable season. I think you could finish fifth.”

Whilst talk of the title is ludicrous, there’s no reason why Villa can’t do the unthinkable and actually finish in the Premier League top-four this season.

Newcastle United showed last term that the status quo can be broken if the right team can find enough form in a campaign, and Villa could just be that club.

Indeed, Emery has made the Villians a true force in the Premier League in 2023, with the best arguably yet to come from the former Arsenal manager.

And for Villa fans, there’s no reason why they can’t dream of playing in the Champions League next season, with their form suggesting that top-four is more than achievable.
