Report: ‘World class’ Premier League star now knows that Arsenal are interested in signing him

Marcus Rashford has been linked with a Manchester United exit and Rashford knows Arsenal want to sign him this summer.

90Min have written a report on how Rashford views his future amid the appointment of Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford, with his contract situation uncertain.

They claim that Rashford is aware of interest from Arsenal, as well as Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona, who are apparently even keener than Arsenal.

Rashford knows he can get out of United if he decides to but he and ten Hag likely want to get the measure of each other first.

Their report reads: “The player is aware of interest in his services from a host of clubs, with Arsenal one team keeping track as they look to sign a new striker in the summer.

“Interest from abroad is however understood to be even stronger, with both Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain making it clear they would be interested should he become available for sale.

Interest from Newcastle United also cannot be ruled out. The club are open to making a statement signing should the right player become available, with Rashford fitting the profile.

Rashford is contracted to United until the summer of 2023, though there is an option for the club to trigger an extension for a further year. 90min understands that United would expect a minimum sale price of £60m should Rashford be allowed to depart.”

Rashford was described as ‘world class’ in October 2020 but his career has come to a standstill in a period of stagnation which has lasted well over a year now.

He has had injury problems, but he has had surgery and they should be resolved now. This looks like a long loss of form and it is down to him to ensure it does not derail his career.

Rashford has a chance to save his United career under ten Hag, who transformed the likes of Sebastien Haller and Dusan Tadic at Ajax.

And he also has exit options if he would rather have a fresh start, with Arsenal possibly able to offer him Champions League football next term, if they can find £60 million to get him.
