‘Don’t think he’s contributed anything’… Pundit says 23-year-old Man Utd player has been invisible this season

Manchester United had another disappointing evening in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Red Devils threw away a lead against Galatasaray away from home, and now, they need a miracle if they are to qualify from their group.

Of course, after such a disappointing result, fingers are being pointed, and, once again, Antony is in the firing line.

Speaking on Virgin Media Sport, Mick McCarthy has been discussing the Brazilian, and he says that the winger hasn’t contributed anything for United this season and that he would’ve gotten rid of the attacker some time ago.

Antony has contributed nothing

McCarthy gave his verdict on the former Ajax ace.

“Antony, the last time I saw him play he was taken off and I would’ve had him off a long time ago. I don’t think he’s contributed anything to them. Garnacho on the other side is really coming into it and he’s looking like a really good player,” McCarthy said.

Looks lost

McCarthy is absolutely right, Antony has looked lost this season, and it’s hard to figure out why United spend so much money on the Brazilian.

Erik Ten Hag was the manager who supposedly got the best out of Antony in Amsterdam, but, for some reason, he looks like he doesn’t know how to use him in Manchester.

Perhaps it’s the weight of the Manchester United shirt that is weighing Antony down, or maybe it’s the speed of the Premier League and Champions League, but it’s clear that something isn’t right with the winger at the moment.

Antony hasn’t come close to justifying his £85m transfer fee yet, and we’d have to imagine that he doesn’t have that much credit left in the bank at Old Trafford with Erik Ten Hag.

Another spell out of the team could be on the horizon for Antony.
