Tottenham want to sign £15m striker who’s been learning from Harry Kane

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy in recent weeks.

For instance, Dean Jones told the Ranks FC podcast in October that Spurs are monitoring the Guinea international.

More recently, BILD reported that Guirassy dreams of a move to the Premier League, which bodes well for Tottenham in their pursuit.

The report also said he can leave Stuttgart for just €17.5million (£15million) in the January transfer window via a release clause, something which attracts ‘many interested parties’.

Spurs didn’t bring in a like-for-like replacement for Harry Kane after he left for Bayern Munich this summer.

Although Tottenham have managed without doing so, there’s certainly scope to bring in a reinforcement in the January window.

Guirassy would tick a lot of boxes for Spurs. He’s talented, prolific, hard-working, proven at a high level, a good age, and not too expensive.

The 27-year-old has enjoyed an amazing season so far for Stuttgart. He has registered a staggering 16 goals and two assists from just 10 club outings in all competition.

Guirassy linked up with the Bundesliga side on loan from Rennes last season, registering a healthy tally of 14 goals from 29 outings.

Since joining permanently, he has already exceeded the entire tally from last season. Clearly he’s a cut above and is already looking worthy of another big move.

‘Scoring goals is an art’

Guirassy recently told The Guardian that he’s been learning from the likes of Harry Kane, Robert Lewandowski and Erling Haaland, by studying their game.

“I’m always trying to be in the right place at the right time,” he said.

“Last season I managed to score some easy goals because I was able to work out where the ball would go. It’s something instinctive.

“When I was younger, I liked to run everywhere on the pitch but I’ve learned about myself.

“I watch a lot of football on TV and I like to watch players like Lewandowski, Kane or [Erling] Haaland and analyse what they are doing.

“You learn from the best and scoring goals is an art. I like to play with the ball but the most important thing is to be ready in the box.”
