Arsenal coaches think they’ve found the new Bukayo Saka but Gunners could lose him for free

Arsenal youngster Amario Cozier-Duberry, who has been likened to Bukayo Saka, is attracting interest from clubs in the Netherlands.

The Gunners have one of the best academies in Europe right now. Hale End has been producing a number of top talents in recent years, and Cozier-Duberry is right up there with the best. However, there is now a chance Arsenal could lose him for free.

Amario Cozier-Duberry has been likened to Bukayo Saka at Arsenal

Amario Cozier-Duberry joined Arsenal’s academy in 2019, when he was just 14 years old.

The teenager is a left-footed right-winger by trade, and he is one of the finest talents in Arsenal’s academy at this moment in time.

Cozier-Duberry, now 18, is a regular for Arsenal’s U23s. He has played seven games in the Premier League 2 and has scored five goals and provided two assists so far. He scored a brace in each of his last two appearances.

The Evening Standard claim today that Arsenal’s coaches have likened Cozier-Duberry to Bukayo Saka ‘due to his stature and playing style’.

Having the new Saka coming through the ranks is massive for the Gunners, but the report claims Cozier-Duberry has entered the final year of his contract now.

He is reportedly attracting interest from clubs in Holland, and if Arsenal aren’t too careful, he could leave on a free transfer next year.

Arsenal need to extend Cozier-Duberry’s contract

Arsenal have done excellent work with respect to players’ contracts recently.

Almost all of Arsenal’s first-team stars have been tied down to long-term deals, while youngsters like Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly’s futures have also been secured.

The next move now has to be to keep hold of Cozier-Duberry. The 18-year-old is a tremendous talent, and there’s no reason why he can’t follow in Saka’s footsteps in the coming years.

If Arsenal lose Cozier-Duberry for nothing next summer, we have a feeling they’ll end up regretting it in a few years’ time.
