‘By the time’… Mikel Arteta left pleasantly surprised by £12m Arsenal player v Brentford

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said that he was left pleasantly surprised by Jorginho against Brentford.

Arteta has explained how the former Chelsea midfielder impressed him on Saturday evening.

So, what has Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said about Jorginho? Let’s take a look.

What’s the story?

Well, Arsenal beat Brentford 1-0 away from home in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

Germany international forward Kai Havertz scored the only goal in the London derby. It came in the 89th minute. Granit Xhaka was impressed.

Jorginho did not start the match for Arsenal. The £12 million (The Guardian) Italian midfielder came on as a substitute for Norway international playmaker Martin Odegaard in the third minute of injury time.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has noted how quickly Jorginho was ready to come on and play his role for the North London club.

Arteta told Football.London: “Today I asked Jorginho to play three minutes and by the time I turned to say his name he had already taken everything and was ready to go. It’s just a joy of a team to work with.”

Jorginho an important player for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal

In my opinion, Jorginho is an important player for Arsenal. I believe that the 31-year-old defensive midfielder will play his role for the Gunners this season.

Arsenal are aiming to win the Premier League title and are also looking to make an impact in the UEFA Champions League.

Jorginho has a wealth of experience, and I think that the Italy international will have his moments for Arsenal this season.

True, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is not playing Jorginho regularly this season, but there will be games where the former Napoli star will start.

Jorginho has made 167 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. The midfielder has scored 21 goals and given six assists in those games.

The midfielder has made four starts and six substitute appearances in the Premier League and has made two starts and one substitute appearance in the UEFA Champions League for Arsenal this season.
