‘Very excited’… Unai Emery now makes comment about Arsenal after Aston Villa win again yesterday

Unai Emery has admitted that he is excited about the prospect of facing Arsenal at home next month amid Aston Villa’s incredible winning streak.

Speaking to the press via Birmingham Live, the Spanish coach admitted that he is relishing the chance to take on the Premier League’s big guns as Villa extended their run of home wins this weekend to 13.

The result took Villa to fifth in the standings, a whole four points off Manchester United in sixth place and firmly into the battle for a UEFA Champions League spot.

Yet Villa will be tested in the coming weeks as Manchester City and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal come to Villa Park, with the games also coming back-to-back. Yet Emery is unfazed.

The Villa manager said said: “We are playing here at home again against Legia, Man City and Arsenal, they are going to amazing matches and big challenges for everybody.

“We are going to be very excited, but life is passing very fast and it is very important to enjoy each moment.”

Villa’s form this season has been nothing short of incredible, with Emery transforming the Birmingham-based club into one of the most exciting teams in English football.

And the Spanish coach will want nothing more next month than to beat Arsenal, the club that made Emery something of a laughing stock during his short-term tenure in north London.

With Arsenal yet to hit the heights of last season, a win is more than likely for Villa next month when the two clubs meet, and Emery will have vengeance on his mind come the epic clash.
