Lionel Messi thinks 20-year-old Liverpool target is even better than Jude Bellingham

Lionel Messi snubbed Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham and voted for Liverpool target Jamal Musiala to win the Kopa Trophy at the Ballon d’Or ceremony recently.

The Kopa Trophy is awarded to the best-performing player under the age of 21 in the world. As expected, Real Madrid star Bellingham won the award, but Messi’s votes suggest that he thought Musiala was better than the England midfielder.

Lionel Messi ranks Liverpool target Jamal Musiala higher than Jude Bellingham

Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala is one of the best young players in the world, and it is no surprise that Liverpool are interested in signing him.

German journalist Christian Falk recently claimed in his Fact Files that the Reds are actually more keen to sign the 20-year-old than Leroy Sane, who is another player they have been heavily linked with.

Everyone knows Musiala’s talent is extraordinary, but if people were to choose who is better between him and Jude Bellingham, most would pick the Real Madrid man.

Lionel Messi, however, thinks the German is actually better than Bellingham – well, that’s what his vote suggests.

The winner of the Kopa Trophy is selected by a voting process where each of the last 32 recipients of the Ballon d’Or will get a chance to pick their top three from a nominated list of 10.

Most people picked Bellingham as their number one, but Messi’s pick for the award was Musiala.

The legendary Argentine chose Barcelona’s Pedri as his second pick, while Bellingham only made it to number three on his list, which is a surprise.

Liverpool should sign Musiala

Jamal Musiala is a tremendous player, isn’t he?

The youngster is already a star for Bayern Munich, having scored four goals and provided three assists for the German champions this season.

He has the potential to become an absolute superstar of the game in the coming years, but unfortunately for Bayern, he has put contract talks on hold. That has opened the door for Liverpool and other interested clubs to monitor his situation.

If there is even the smallest chance that Musiala will leave Bayern, Liverpool should be all over that deal in the summer.
