Tottenham have a serious injury crisis on their hands at the moment.
A large number of Spurs’ first-team players are on the sidelines right now, and they need to find alternative options in a number of key positions.
Injury crises are always a pain in the backside, but moments of crisis can often produce unexpected stars.
Cast your mind back to early 2016 and you’ll remember a young player by the name of Marcus Rashford getting a chance at Manchester United after a spate of injuries at Old Trafford, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Tottenham have a number of young stars they could call upon in this situation, and speaking on The Spurs Show Podcast, David Howells has tipped Jamie Donley as a player who could break through and make his mark at Spurs in the coming weeks.
Jamie Donley could make a mark
Howells shared his verdict on the 18-year-old.
“As for Donley, Donley has had a brilliant start to the season, he looks a real character as well. It’s different for attacking players, you can take more of a risk with attacking players,” Howells said.
“He seems like he’s got a spirit about him, he looks physically ok. He’s coped at every level from an early age. He looks the part with the U21s this season. I’d like to think he can go on and do really well, I’m sure he’ll have a career, I’d love for it to be at Tottenham, but that’s not always the case. This could be an opportunity for someone like Jamie Donley to come in and make a statement.”

Jamie Donley could get a chance
Tottenham are in a dire situation at the moment with injuries at the moment, and if one or two more players do go down, it could be time to call upon Donley.
As Howells says, this young man appears to be up to any challenge that is presented to him, and we’re sure he would relish the opportunity to get a shot in the first-team at Spurs.
Something would have to go seriously wrong for Donley to get his chance, but if he does get a shot, we would fancy him to grasp his opportunity with both hands.
Donley has been tipped as a star of the future for a while, and the future could be now in north London.
