Two London clubs want to sign Tottenham attacker on loan, waiting for Spurs decision now

League One clubs Leyton Orient and Charlton Athletic are waiting on Tottenham Hotspur to make a decision on the future of Jamie Donley with January closing in, ahead of a possible loan transfer.

That is according to a report from TeamTalk. Donley, 18, has been on fire for Tottenham’s second string this season and has even won a place in the matchday squad in the Premier League on two occasions.

In 11 games for the 21’s, Donley has scored six goals – and laid on a whopping 11 assists. His chances, however, of getting into Tottenham’s senior side on a regular basis are unlikely. A loan could be needed.

The report from TeamTalk says that Spurs are yet to make a decision on whether to loan out the England U19 man. Waiting in the wings are two London clubs competing in League One. Charlton, Leyton Orient.

The latter being one of the clubs that Harry Kane went on loan to, and of course, has sponsored in the past. The Athletic say those within Spurs are of the belief Donley is drawing comparisons with Kane.

Clubs waiting on Tottenham to make Jamie Donley decision

Donley is a supreme talent. To be be drawing comparisons with a player like Kane is enormous. Those likenesses do not come without being a bit of a wonderkid. But Donley now needs first-team game time.

He needs to be playing against men, players that will knock him around a bit – and if he is to become like Kane, go on loan and earn his stripes. A move to Charlton or Orient will certainly help Donley do this.

If he can go to League One, at 18, and produce the kind of form he is doing in the reserves – then he will prove to many that he has what it takes to go on and make an impression on the Tottenham first team.
