Tottenham could now keep £26m player in January amid intense transfer interest

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg could now reportedly stay at Tottenham despite ongoing rumours that the midfielder will leave the club in January.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the north London side are yet to make a final decision on the Danish international, who for some weeks has been strongly linked with a move away from Tottenham.

As per the report, Hojbjerg has featured quite a bit for Spurs in recent weeks, with the club now thinking that the midfielder could remain with the Premier League side in January.

Juventus have been linked with a move for Hojbjerg in the winter window, with the Old Lady desperate to sign a midfielder to replace the likes of Paul Pogba.

However, Hojbjerg could now be off the table, with Tottenham potentially leaning towards keeping the £26m midfielder on their books heading into 2024.

Indeed, Hojbjerg is at the peak of his career and has impressed when given the chance under Ange Postecoglou, and staying with Tottenham and fighting for his spot could be a good move.

Hojbjerg is an unusual spot in his footballing career, with the midfielder clearly good enough to compete at the highest level yet not playing as much as the midfielder ought to be.

Yet with what Tottenham want to achieve this season, keeping hold of Hojbjerg has to be on the agenda, with the 28-year-old a good option to have in and around the squad.

Replacing the midfielder will be a hard task for Tottenham, and for the remainder of the season, keeping Hojbjerg on their books would be a good move from the club.
