‘He’s better than that’: Eberechi Eze says £45m Tottenham player’s passing is underrated

James Maddison has been absolutely brilliant for Tottenham so far this season.

The England international has hit a new level this term. He’s been pulling all of the strings for the north London club since signing, and he’s been an utter joy to watch.

Speaking on the Sky Sports Premier League YouTube channel, Eberechi Eze has been discussing Maddison and his stats on the new EA FC 24 game.

Eze took umbrage with the fact that Maddison had a passing rating of just 86 on the new game, stating that from what he’s seen from Maddison, his passing attributes should be much higher, claiming that the £45m Tottenham star is an incredibly talented player.

Maddison a great passer

Eze was full of praise for the Tottenham playmaker and his passing ability.

“I don’t think he will be happy with that (86 passing rating). He is better than that I think. From what I’ve seen in real life it’s an 89 job at least. He’s talented man, he’s a talented boy for sure,” Eze said.

One of the best

We have to agree with Eze, Maddison probably does deserve a better passing rating.

If you’ve watched the Tottenham star this season, you’ll know that there aren’t many better passers in world football right now, let alone in the Premier League.

Maddison has it all, he can thread through balls, cross and deliver from set pieces with equal brilliance.

Simply put, this young man is a joy to watch when he’s at his best, and this season, he’s been at his best more often than not.

Not that it’s the most important thing in the world, but if Maddison keeps this level of performance up, he will certainly have a better passing rating on the next edition of EA FC.
