‘No man’s land’…Jamie O’Hara tears into ‘problem’ Tottenham player after Wolves

Jamie O’Hara has lamented Tottenham for sticking with players such as Eric Dier and Ben Davies after their draw at Wolves.

A mix of injuries and suspensions forced Ange Postecoglou to go deep into his squad and this resulted in the likes of Dier, Davies and Gio Lo Celso all getting an opportunity.

In the end, it wasn’t enough, as Wolves fought back late on to score two late goals and make it two defeats in a week for Spurs.

Of course, players like Dier and Davies have been there a while now and come in for criticism before.

And speaking on TalkSPORT, Jamie O’Hara slammed Dier for just not being good enough.

Jamie O’Hara says Eric Dier not good enough for Tottenham

Speaking alongside Gabby Agbonlahor last night, O’Hara was furious with his former team.

“They players we’ve got aren’t good enough, coming off the bench who’ve had to come in. Ben Davies, he’s ok, he’ll do a job but he’s not a centre-half. Eric Dier, for me, two mistakes, he’s in no man’s land for both goals. Should have got rid of him in the summer, no one wanted him, and he ends up back in the team and this is the problem. These players you’ve been trying to get rid of, they end up playing again,” O’Hara said.

Dier was not expected to feature much at all this season but could now be called upon to play a big role in the team.

With Cristian Romero a constant problem in terms of suspension, and Van de Ven out until the new year, Dier will need to be called upon more than once.

However, O’Hara is right here and this has been a problem for Tottenham for some time now.

While Ange Postecoglou might have got Spurs playing very well and on the front foot, the fact remains that Dier has been off the pace for some time now.

A new defender in January is now a must and if Spurs don’t get one, then a place in the top four could even be at risk.
