‘I’m convinced’…Tim Sherwood makes claim about Tottenham after seeing them lose to Wolves

Tim Sherwood has made a big claim about Tottenham after watching them lose against Wolves today at Molineux.

Spurs looked to have got a win sewn up thanks to some staunch defending and good goalkeeping from Vicario, before a late Wolves show ensured three points. Pablo Sarabia changed the game and made sure Ange Postecoglou tasted defeat twice in the space of a week.

Of course, Tottenham had a number of injury and suspension problems as the likes of James Maddison and Cristian Romero missed out. Destiny Udogie was also suspended, while Micky van de Ven was also a big loss for Spurs.

And watching on for Premier League Productions, former Spurs midfielder Tim Sherwood believes that at full-strength, Tottenham would have got over the line.

Speaking about the game for PLP, Sherwood commented on Spurs and believes they need to find a way to win without their best players.

“Without your best players sometimes you have to find a way. I’m convinced Spurs with their best side would have won that football match but Pedro Neto was missing for Wolves as well. You have to find a way with a squad of players, sooner or later you’re going to have to dip into your reserves and unfortunately they came up wanting today,” Sherwood said.

Tottenham’s squad doesn’t quite have the depth of some others in the league right now and today it showed.

Reports this weekend have claimed that Postecoglou will be backed in January with at least two players signed for Big Ange.

As Sherwood says here, Spurs will need to find a way to win when their best players aren’t available.

For all the praise they’ve had, unfortunately the record books now show two losses in a week and for a team looking to win the title, that simply won’t suffice.
