People in football think Tottenham might end up signing ‘incredible’ 24-year-old in January

Tottenham seem to have a bit of work to do in January.

The recent injury and suspension crisis at Spurs has highlighted their lack of depth, and while the defence has been the big issue as of late, there are also questions to be asked of their attacking depth.

The fact that Bryan Gil started against Aston Villa shows you that Spurs are lacking depth in the attack right now, but, luckily, the January window is just around the corner.

The north London club have been linked with a few different options in January, but one player who has been linked to Tottenham almost since day one of Ange Postecoglou’s reign is Jota.

The Portuguese winger, of course, worked with the Spurs boss when he was at Celtic, and with Jota supposedly being surplus to requirements in Saudi Arabia already, a reunion with the Australian could be on the cards.

According to The Telegraph, this deal is causing some tongues to wag within the footballing world, and according to this report, people within the game reckon a loan move in January could make a lot of sense.

Those within the game reckon that Jota could end up at Tottenham in January, and we’re inclined to agree.

The winger is, of course, well-suited to Postecoglou’s style of play, and if he is available on a loan deal, that could work for Spurs.

Tottenham do need some more attacking depth, and, as we saw at Celtic, Jota can be very effective in a team that plays in this way.

Postecoglou is a big fan of Jota, describing him as ‘incredible’ during their time together at Celtic, and while a loan deal is being touted, we’d have to imagine that a long-term deal could be in the offing if this supposed temporary move in January goes well.

This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on as we head into the winter.
