What people within Tottenham think of Ange Postecoglou’s management recently

The honeymoon period for Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham appears to be coming to an end.

Spurs have now lost three league games in a row, and with a trip to the Etihad coming up this weekend, we’d have to imagine that a fourth loss on the spin isn’t out of the question.

Of course, such a run of form can lead to managers being questioned by their owners. However, speaking on the Fox Football Podcast, Charlie Eccleshare has been discussing how Ange Postecoglou’s management has been viewed internally at Spurs as of late, and he says that everyone in the club is still behind him.

Eccleshare says that people within Spurs understand that injuries and suspensions have ravaged the squad, claiming that people within the club recognise that something is being built and that could take time.

Spurs understanding of recent struggles

Eccleshare shared what he knows about how Spurs are viewing this recent form.

“Most fans aren’t that upset about the three losses. They understand the context, they’ve lost key players through injuries and suspensions. People get it, people understand. Very few people within Spurs anyway are saying Ange has to be more pragmatic, maybe some are saying that externally, but people get it internally that he’s building something, this is how he wants to play and it’s not the end of the world if he loses a few games,” Eccleshare said.

Not Ange’s fault

It’s great to hear that Tottenham aren’t questioning their manager at this point, because a lot of this isn’t his fault.

Injuries and suspensions are just bad luck, and we’ve already seen what Spurs are capable of this season when everyone is fit and firing.

Postecoglou has been brilliant so far, and he deserves a bit of patience now.

He’s not lost the dressing room and he hasn’t been figured out. He’s having to play a real mish-mash of a squad at the moment, and that has, unsurprisingly, coincided with a few bad results.

Don’t be shocked if Tottenham bounce back once everyone is fit and available.
