Jamie Carragher says £22m Tottenham Hotspur player ‘didn’t stop running’ vs Manchester City

Jamie Carragher has given his verdict on the performance of Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min against Manchester City.

The former Liverpool defender and Sky Sports pundit was impressed with Son.

So, what has Jamie Carragher said about Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min? Let’s take a look.

Praise for Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min vs Manchester City

Well, Tottenham Hotspur played out a 3-3 draw with Manchester City away from home at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.

Son Heung-min is the Spurs captain now and he started the match for the visiting team. The £22 million (The Guardian) South Korea international was deployed up front in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

The 31-year-old scored an own goal in the ninth minute. Son scored for Tottenham and provided an assist. He had a very good game.

Jamie Carragher was following the match for Sky Sports, and the former Liverpool defender was impressed by the display produced by Son.

Carragher said on Sky Sports Premier League (7:38 pm, December 3, 2023): “You saw Son today. He didn’t stop running. That was a leader, that was a captain.”

Son Heung-min is world class

In my opinion, Son Heung-min is one of the best forwards in the Premier League and is a world-class player. Head coach Ange Postecoglou thinks that he is “quality”.

Son has developed into an important source of goals for Tottenham Hotspur over the years. Pedro Porro rates him highly.

I believe that the forward has become a leader now for Spurs after the departure of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023.

The Tottenham no. 7 has scored nine goals and given two assists in 14 Premier League matches this season.

Son has made 282 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. The South Korean star has scored 112 goals and given 54 assists in those games.
