Arsenal have their eyes on the Premier League title this season.
The north London club have started this campaign brilliantly, but it does feel as though they are one piece of the puzzle away from being able to truly topple Manchester City.
The Gunners aren’t the full package just yet, and, in our view, Arsenal need to add to their midfield ranks.
The Kai Havertz experiment isn’t working, and Thomas Partey is out injured, therefore, logic suggests that Arsenal could do with a new midfielder.
Luckily, by the sounds of it, Arsenal think they know who the solution to their problems could be.
Indeed, speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has been discussing Arsenal’s January transfer plans, and he says that they believe Douglas Luiz to be the perfect signing in January.
Arsenal think Luiz is perfect
Romano shared what he knows about the £15m man.
“It is also important to mention the process at Arsenal because injuries aren’t helping Arsenal too. The idea of Arsenal is to look at midfielders in the January transfer window. I mentioned last week the name of Douglas Luiz as a top target for Arsenal, and I can confirm that Arsenal really, really want and appreciate Douglas Luiz. They consider Douglas Luiz the perfect midfielder for their idea. The intensity, the quality, so many factors make him top of the list for Arsenal,” Romano said.

Won’t be easy
Arsenal clearly want to sign Luiz in January, but whether or not they can get this deal done is another matter entirely.
Indeed, signing the Brazilian won’t be easy.
Aston Villa are, themselves, on a massive upwards trajectory at the moment, and they won’t want to derail their own season halfway through a fantastic campaign.
Factor in that there may already be some bad blood between Unai Emery and Arsenal, and you have to presume that this deal will be very tough to pull off.
Arsenal may have to fight an uphill battle if they want to sign Luiz this January.
