On Wednesday, Leeds United announced that Pascal Struijk had signed a new contract at Elland Road.
The Whites defender has penned a new four-and-a-half year extension which runs until the summer of 2027.
Struijk has arguably been one of the most consistent players in Jesse Marsch’s team this season.
The Leeds ace is a centre-back by trade, but has made a name for himself at left-back this term.
Struijk has developed into a top player since joining the Whites back in 2018.
He has made 77 appearances for Leeds, including 14 this season.
And news of his contract extension has been met with joy by fans and peers alike.

Joe Gelhardt was one of those who replied, writing “congrats big man” in the comments.
The likes of Charlie Cresswell, Jamie Shackleton and Lewis Bate also praised Struijk in response to his post.
Struijk has a bright future at Leeds and in the game
Although Struijk has been playing well at left-back, it remains to be seen whether he stays in the position past January.
Leeds Live reporter Beren Cross recently claimed that Marsch doesn’t see him as first-choice.
“When everyone’s fit and firing Firpo is certainly his first choice at left-back. Struijk is seen as a back-up centre-back and a back-up left back right now,” wrote Cross.
“Drameh and Struijk are different because of their versatility. The former seems suited to one role and, unfortunately for him, there are now two, fit, senior options in front of him.
“The latter can play in two roles and one of those only has one senior option in front of him, who happens to be injury-prone.
“While match time has always seemed like an issue for Drameh, the stars have always been aligned for Struijk to play fairly regularly for what feels like a very long time now.”
As well as Firpo potentially winning his place back, Marsch could also potentially look to bring in reinforcements during the January transfer window.
Nonetheless, even if Struijk’s time in the XI comes to an end for now, his time at Leeds is certainly set to continue for the long-term.
