Liverpool are going to have move into the market this summer to replace Sadio Mane and the Reds have made their move for Ousmane Dembele, according to Sport.
The Spanish publication claims that the Reds have indeed put forward a proposal to sign Dembele, who can depart the La Liga giants for nothing after failing to agree a new contract. And with Liverpool set to lose Sadio Mane this summer, the Frenchman has emerged as a target.
According to Sport, Liverpool have moved to put together an offer for Dembele as they try to entice him to the Premier League. It’s claimed the Reds have made contact with Dembele’s representatives to put their proposals to them as they look to beat clubs like Chelsea and PSG to his signature.
Dembele was seen as one of the best young players in Europe when Barcelona paid a huge amount of money to take him to Spain from Dortmund. But a mixture of injuries and poor form has seen Dembele flatter to deceive at the Camp Nou, despite the obvious talent.
Of course, the talent is there. Indeed, Barca’s president Laporta even claimed he rated Dembele as being ‘better than Mbappe’. A huge claim, that the Barca man hasn’t answered yet.
TBR’s View: Dembele Has To Have The Right Attitude For Liverpool
There are red flags really when it comes to Ousmane Dembele for Liverpool. First off is the fact he has not achieved what he should have in Barcelona. Secondly, there are talk he has asked for ridiculous money in the past. And thirdly, does he have the right work ethic to replace Mane?
Jurgen Klopp must ensure he gets the Mane replacement right. Talent wise, Dembele is fine. But the rest might not add up, and Klopp will need to be sure he is 100% behind this potential signing for it to have any chance of working.
