Jose Enrique has backed Liverpool to sign Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele on a free transfer this summer.

The Frenchman fell out with the Catalans in January after he refused to pen a new deal. His current contract expires at the end of this season and a number of clubs will surely be keeping an eye on him.

Liverpool, unsurprisingly, have been linked with a move for the 24-year-old, who has been described as an ‘unbelievable‘ player by ex-Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Enrique took to his Instagram today and backed Jurgen Klopp to sign Dembele in the summer transfer window.

Liverpool have a big decision to make with respect to their forwards this summer.

Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino will all enter the final year of their contracts and the Reds have to either extend their deals or consider moving them on.

Salah is the big one and Mundo Deportivo claimed recently that Klopp will make a move for Dembele if his Egyptian superstar decides to leave Liverpool in the summer.

Former Red Enrique would love the Barcelona man at Anfield. “What a player he will be for us Reds and as well, on a free transfer. Klopp knows him very well,” he wrote on Instagram.

It’s a big shame for Barcelona that they are set to lose Dembele this summer. The Catalans paid an eye-watering £96.8 million (BBC) for his services in 2017 and he’s now set to walk away for nothing in a few months’ time.

As for Liverpool, it would be a no-brainer to consider signing Dembele if Salah leaves.

The Frenchman is still only 24 and is an incredible player. He is rapid, is a fantastic dribbler and has the potential to go on and emulate Salah when he hits his peak.

A number of clubs will line up for Dembele this summer and if Salah does leave, many Liverpool fans will hope to see Klopp bring the Barcelona man in.
