Pedro Porro now makes interesting claim about Ange Postecoglou’s training sessions at Tottenham

Pedro Porro has made an interesting claim about Ange Postecoglou’s training sessions at Tottenham Hotspur.

Speaking to The Telegraph, Pedro Porro has lauded the Tottenham boss for the impact he’s made in North London so far.

Ange Postecoglou has made a positive start to life at Spurs, despite suffering three consecutive defeats in the Premier League last month.

The Aussie boss had Tottenham sitting top of the Premier League table beforehand after drastically changing their style of play.

Indeed, Spurs have been one of the most eye-catching sides in the league so far this season after Postecoglou’s predecessors had offered up some dull football over the past four years.

And Porro has been speaking about the changes Postecoglou has made behind the scenes at Spurs.

Porro makes claim about Postecoglou’s training sessions at Tottenham

Porro claims that while Spurs still focus on the defensive side of their game in certain sessions, they always train with the ball at their feet.

The Spaniard also stated that there is a completely different feeling around Hotspur Way now, with Postecoglou creating a competitive atmosphere in training.

“There are sessions in which the emphasis is on the defensive part, others on the offensive, but the common denominator is the ball,” Porro said.

“We always train with the ball. There is a healthy rivalry between team-mates, challenges between each other and an important good feeling to make things work. It wasn’t like that before.”

Porro isn’t the first Tottenham player to comment on Postecoglou’s intense training regime.

Indeed, skipper Son Heung-Min admitted that the Aussie’s sessions were really ‘difficult’ back in September.

While Spurs’ recent results haven’t been up to scratch, their performances certainly haven’t dipped.

Tottenham were unfortunate to lose 2-1 to Aston Villa last weekend after creating plenty of chances in the game.

But with several key players sidelined, Postecoglou faces a challenging few weeks ahead and his work on the training ground feels more vital than ever.
