‘Done incredibly well’… Ben Davies says he’s been so impressed with one Tottenham man this season

Ben Davies has heaped praise on Ange Postecoglou after an encouraging start to life at Tottenham Hotspur.

Speaking to i Sport, the Tottenham defender claimed Ange Postecoglou has done a brilliant job since joining from Celtic over the summer.

The Aussie boss had Spurs sitting top of the Premier League table after 10 games played, without suffering a defeat.

But he’s enduring his first real test as Tottenham boss at the moment as he’s lost several key players through injuries and suspensions of late.

Spurs have suffered three consecutive defeats in the league but they have put in some encouraging performances along the way.

Even Pep Guardiola has stated that Postecoglou has made a huge impact during the early stages of his spell in North London. And Ben Davies is the latest to sing the former Celtic man’s praises.

Davies impressed with Postecoglou impact

Speaking to i News, Davies lauded Postecoglou for transforming Tottenham’s style of play in such a short space of time.

“Ange has come in and done incredibly well,” Davies said. “We’ve played an exciting brand of football and I think it’s what the fans have wanted to see.

“The last few results haven’t been exactly as we’d have wanted but at least we’ve shown a style that we want to utilise and how we want to go forward with that.”

Tottenham fans have endured some pretty dull football over the past four years under the likes of Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte.

Postecoglou has been a breath of fresh air at Spurs and their supporters seem to be fully on board with the Aussie’s vision for the future.

Spurs are going through a difficult spell at the moment as Postecoglou is without a host of key players due to an ongoing injury crisis.

But they will take encouragement from the level of their displays and Postecoglou has already shown what he can bring to the club with a full-strength side.

Tottenham’s bid to get back to winning ways doesn’t get any easier as they travel to reigning champions Manchester City tomorrow. But you can almost guarantee the Spurs boss will set his side up to give it a real go on Sunday.
