David Seaman now predicts the result of Manchester City vs Tottenham clash tomorrow

David Seaman has backed Manchester City to beat Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Speaking on the latest episode of his podcast, the former Arsenal man feels Spurs will bounce back after a recent slump, but believes their resurgence won’t begin in Manchester tomorrow.

Ange Postecoglou has endured a difficult few weeks after such a promising start to life at Tottenham.

The Aussie boss has suffered three consecutive defeats in the Premier League, with a large chunk of his squad sideline due to injuries and suspensions.

Indeed, Spurs will travel to Manchester without the likes of James Maddison, Micky van de Ven, Rodrigo Bentancur and Pape Matar Sarr due to injuries.

Cristian Romero remains suspended after his red card against Chelsea last month but Tottenham will welcome Yves Bissouma back for tomorrow’s game.

Spurs fell to a 2-1 defeat against Aston Villa on Sunday but can take plenty of encouragement from their performance.

Yet, they face their sternest test of the season tomorrow and will be without a host of key players.

Tottenham do boast a surprisingly brilliant record against Pep Guardiola’s City. But David Seaman feels the champions will run out comfortable winners tomorrow.

Seaman predicts Man City vs Tottenham

Speaking on Seaman Says, the Arsenal legend backed City to beat Tottenham 3-1.

“There were a lot of injuries and suspensions so you can feel a bit sorry for them and they will bounce back, there is no doubt about it, they are too good,” Seaman said.

“But they have got this in them, these little blips. To be fair they have some decent history but I am still going to go for a City win. I’m probably going to go 3-1 Man City.”

Tottenham certainly have the odds stacked against them as Postecoglou bids to pick up a result against the champions with a depleted squad.

It looks likely that the Aussie will continue with a back four made up of full-backs, with Emerson Royal and Ben Davies starting at centre-back last time out against Villa.

Dejan Kulusevski moved into midfield last weekend and it will be intriguing to see if Postecoglou sticks with an attack-minded approach.

In our view, City will run out 4-2 winners tomorrow and Tottenham’s make-shift back four will simply be unable to keep Guardiola’s side at bay.

But Spurs still have the likes of Son Heung-Min, Brennan Johnson and Kulusevski available, so they will cause City problems going forward.
