Report: Everton set sights on £20m title-winning forward who’s ‘always a threat’

Everton have reportedly joined the likes of Leeds United in the race to sign Rangers attacker Ryan Kent.

According to 90Min, the Toffees have shown interest in the 25-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window.

As well as Everton and Leeds, Wolves and Fulham are apparently eyeing the Ibrox star too.

Frank Lampard’s Blues are currently fighting for their Premier League lives, as are Jesse Marsch’s Whites.

Everton are 18th in the table on 32 points from 33 games, while Leeds are 17th with 34 points from 34 games.

If either side manages to stave off relegation, they’ll need to bolster their ranks significantly in summer.

And Kent, one of the top players in the Scottish Premiership, wouldn’t be a bad shout.

The former Liverpool man is approaching the final 12 months of his current contract at Ibrox.

Rangers are reportedly planning to make him an offer of an extension.

However, ‘there is an acceptance’ that they’ll struggle to match the sort of money the winger could earn in England.

Though the Gers don’t want to sell him, they also don’t want to risk losing him for nothing in 2023.

Kent helped Rangers win the Scottish Premiership title last year, their first for 10 years.

He also helped them reach this year’s Europa League final, where they’ll play Eintracht Frankfurt in Seville.

Former Rangers ace Alex Rae claimed last year that Kent is “always a threat”.

In terms of a potential price tag, The Athletic reported last year that Leeds were considering a deal for Kent which could have been worth up to £20m.
