‘Always a threat’: Alex Rae thought one Rangers player was outstanding today

Glasgow Rangers icon Alex Rae has praised Ibrox winger Ryan Kent for his display on Saturday.

The Gers star was one of his side’s best attacking players as they ran out 1-0 winners over Dundee United at Ibrox.

Indeed, Kent was arguably Rangers’ only real attacking outlet in the match.

The 25-year-old looked to commit players and created a number of opportunities for his teammates.

Kent saw a penalty appeal turned down in the first half, fired wide on 62 minutes and set a chance up for Alfredo Morelos on 75 minutes.

Ianis Hagi won the Man of the Match award, a decision which confused some Rangers fans.

The 23-year-old was far from his side’s best performer on the day.

Rae, taking to Twitter, acknowledged that Rangers’ performance wasn’t the best, but was pleased about getting the job done.

He also deemed Kent his man of the match, saying he was “always a threat”.

Rangers’ victory over Dundee United meant they’ve won eight consecutive Scottish Premiership matches.

The Gers laboured against their heavily-depleted opponents at Ibrox.

Indeed, Rangers didn’t break the deadlock until the 71st minute.

Scott McMann handled in the box to gift Rangers a penalty, which Ibrox captain James Tavernier converted.

The Gers currently sit top of the table on 48 points, seven above Celtic, who have a game in hand.
