Player is now considering move amid Liverpool and Manchester City interest

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City have received a boost in their quest to sign Valentin Barco.

That is according to Calciomercato, which has claimed what the Boca Juniors star is planning to do.

So, what is being reported about Liverpool and Manchester City transfer target Valentin Barco? Let’s take a look.

What’s the story?

Well, according to Calciomercato, Liverpool are interested in signing Valentin Barco from Boca Juniors.

The report in the Italian news outlet has claimed that Juventus are also keen on the 19-year-old, who can play as a left-back, left wing-back or left winger.

CM has reported that the Argentine youngster is considering his future and is looking at a potential move to Europe.

This is certainly encouraging for Liverpool, as well as for Premier League rivals Manchester City.

That is because City, who won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup last season, have also been linked with the teenager.

TyC Sports reported earlier this month that City made a move for him in the summer of 2023 and remain keen on bringing him to the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City a better option than Liverpool for Valentin Barco

In my opinion, Manchester City would be a better option for Valentin Barco than Liverpool.

Both Liverpool and City are massive clubs, and both regularly challenge and win major trophies.

However, I believe that Barco would have a better chance of playing matches and developing at City.

City boss Pep Guardiola is one of the greatest managers of all time. He improves and develops players.

Phil Foden has progressed a lot under Guardiola, who has also turned players like Kyle Walker and Rodri from very good to world class.

Guardiola is giving chances to youngsters like Oscar Bobb and Rico Lewis, and I believe that Barco could be able to impress the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss.

Yes, Jeremy Doku is now playing at left wing and is keeping Jack Grealish out of the team, but Barco is able to play at left-back or as a left wing-back.

Other than Sergio Gomez, City do not have a recognised left-back in their squad at the moment. So, Barco does have the chance to establish himself at the Etihad Stadium.
